Our Process

  • GETTING STARTED

Complete a simple application. Tax Appeals Lake County will do a no cost property assessment analysis to determine if an appeal is warranted. If your property appears over assessed you will be e-mailed our agreement and authorization form that needs to be completed and returned to us by e-mail, fax, or regular mail along with a $25.00 retainer.  The $25.00 retainer will be applied toward our fee of 25% of your first year savings.  If your appeal is not successful, the $25.00 will be refunded.

  • COMPLETE & RETURN FORMS

    Once we receive your forms you are done!  We monitor all deadlines and follow your file through the difficult appeal process.  Tax Appeals Lake County will handle every aspect of your appeal case from start to finish.

    • WE KEEP YOU UPDATED

    We will keep you up to date as your case moves through the appeal process. There are many detailed steps that your appeal must go through from your township to the Lake County Review Board.   Due to the vast number of assessment appeal cases Lake County reviews, the appeal process can be  lengthy. 

    • NOTIFY YOU OF APPEAL OUTCOME

    When we receive conformation of your property tax appeal from the Lake County Review Board we will notify you of your Lake County property assessment reduction.

    • PROPERTY TAX SAVINGS TO YOU

    Tax Appeals Lake County’s fee is 25% of your first year’s savings.  THAT’S IT!  If we save you $3,000 your first year, then you save $2,250 and pay Tax Appeals Lake County $750.  The first year's savings is figured by the difference between pre-appeal assessed value and the new assessed value.  All following years' savings go directly to you.
